A fantastic experience that I would highly recommend, this is not to miss. It's best to book in advance though as we had to go to Strahan instead of Queenstown.Full review by Ulli H

Great trip, with lots of food and opportunities to stretch legs and take photos. Not too lengthy to get bored and plenty to see and do at the stops where the engine takes on water.Full review by Wayne S

Thank you for your enquiry, yes all of our journeys do return to where they departed. Our River and Rainforest trip from Strahan heads half way to Queenstown, turns at the Dubbil Barril station and returns to Strahan, our Rack and Gorge does the same from Queenstown, to Dubbil Barril and return to Queenstown. We also offer a full trip from Strahan to Queenstown and return during all timetables except our Winter one. We do hope you can join us on board for one of our historic journeys soon.

It is right next to the station but is not owned or run by them and the people at the lovely cafe do not like giving out change even if you buy something.
Can you book the day of the trip in mid December or does it tend to sell out in advance?
A:

I’d recommend booking in advance so you don’t miss out. We booked at the travel desk on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry about a week ahead. The staff gave us a small discount because we booked onboard. We travelled in October this year. We highly recommend the cafe at the railway station at Queenstown for breakfast and lunch if you have the opportunity.
