Syrian authorities on Monday evacuated Bedouin families from the Druze-majority city of Sweida, after a ceasefire in the southern province halted a week of sectarian bloodshed that a monitor said

Tens of thousands of people remained displaced by the violence and the United Nations has been unable to bring in much-needed humanitarian and medical aid because of ongoing clashes.

The announcement came as renewed clashes continued between Druze groups and Bedouin clans in Syria’s southern Sweida province, leaving tens of thousands of people displaced.
