Regional governor Rustam Minnikhanov said the drone was destroyed, but falling debris ignited a fire and struck a vehicle manufacturing plant in the Yelabuga district, some 1,200km from the frontline. Russia’s defence ministry said it shot down six Ukrainian drones overnight.

Russian forces have launched a large-scale drone assault across Ukraine, where officials said three people were killed and 64 others wounded.

Ukraine's president said that troops maintained their defensive lines along more than 1,000 kilometers of the front.

Russia said its overnight missile and drone barrage struck the large Kremenchuk oil refinery in central Ukraine, which was previously targeted by Kremlin forces in 2022.

It’s the first time in three years of war that Russian troops have entered the Dnipropetrovsk region, a sign of battlefield momentum.
