Indonesia's president on Wednesday hailed a "new era" of trade relations with the United States, after Donald Trump said he would slash tariffs faced by Southeast Asia's biggest economy from 32 percent to 19 percent.

Indonesia also has agreed to purchase billions in U.S. energy, agriculture products and airplanes, Trump said July 15 in a social media post.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday the United States has reached a trade agreement with Indonesia after speaking with the country’s President Prabowo Subianto.
