Incident comes five days after the Air India crash in Ahmedabad, when a London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed.

LR, landed in Kolkata from San Francisco. During the layover, a technical issue was identified in the left engine. According to reports, the pilot instructed all passengers to deplane at around 5.20 am.

Air India on Tuesday afternoon cancelled its Ahmedabad-London Gatwick flight citing "operational issues". No further explanation has been offered by the airline, passengers said. Sources at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhai Patel Airport said passengers will be re-routed.
