Meta Sunday announced a new video editing app called Edits, after ByteDance’s video editing app CapCut was removed from Apple's App Store and the Google

CapCut, the video-editing app owned by China's ByteDance, remained dark for US users on Monday even after TikTok returned.

Several other ByteDance-owned apps went offline along with it, including the popular video editing app CapCut. With the app's fate now in limbo, many content creators have been left scrambling for alternatives while the future of their digital workflows remains up in the air.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri just announced a video editing app called Edits. Mosseri said the app is meant to rival CapCut, a video editing app that went offline along with TikTok. Edits is available for preorder on the iOS App Store.

Meta announced its upcoming new video editing app called Edits after President Donald Trump restored TikTok in the US. Instagram head Adam Mosseri shared details regarding the upcoming app on Threads.

Hours after TikTok was pulled in the United States, Meta seized the opportunity and unveiled a new Edits app. It's intended to be a replacement for CapCut, the editing app by TikTok owner ByteDance, as well as TikTok's built-in video editor.
