Teams already qualified for round of 16: Chelsea (England), Vitoria Guimaraes (Portugal), Fiorentina (Italy), Rapid Vienna (Austria), Djurgarden (Sweden), Lugano (Switzerland), Legia Warsaw (Poland), Cercle Brugge (Belgium).

Eight winners of two-leg playoffs on Feb. 13 and 20 will advance to the round of 16 scheduled in March, joining league leader Chelsea, third-place Fiorentina and the other top-eight finishers. Fiorentina lost in the past two finals of the Conference League.

Chelsea will play one of Gent, FC Copenhagen, Real Betis or FC Heidenheim in the first knockout phase of the Conference League. Enzo Maresca’s side finished top of the Conference League league phase having won all six of their matches and have automatically secured their place in the knockout stage.

Potential opponents are also pre-defined by pairings of teams’ final league positions. For example, teams finishing ninth and tenth will face the sides that ended 23rd or 24th; teams finishing 11th or 12th will be drawn against either the 21st or 22nd-placed sides and so on.
