Two strong waves in the Atlantic Ocean are showing signs of development as Hurricane Gabrielle begins to weaken.
Tropical Storm Gabrielle, the seventh named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, is forecast to become a hurricane by Sunday, but the system is not expected to impact South Florida or the U.S., meteorologists say.

Hurricane Gabrielle is continuing to barrel across the Central Subtropical Atlantic as a monster Category 4 hurricane on Tuesday morning. In addition to the threat of Hurricane Gabrielle, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is also monitoring two other areas for potential tropical development in the Atlantic.
Hurricane Gabrielle rapidly intensified from a Category 1 to a Category 4 storm on Monday. Rapid intensification is when a storm's winds increase by at least 34.5 mph in 24 hours.
