The 2025 American Music Awards are here — and so are a new crop of winners! This year's American Music Awards, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, are airing live from the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and celebrate the year's most iconic music.

Kendrick Lamar, a three-time AMA winner, earned the most nominations this year with 10, but only ended up taking home one award for favorite hip-hop song. Lamar was competing in top categories including artist of the year and song of the year, which ended up going to Billie Eilish.

The 2025 American Music Awards on CBS drove 9.2 billion potential impressions and 816,600 mentions on social media, while also posting growth across all key demographics versus the 2022 broadcast: up 91% among adults 18-34, up 23% among adults 18-49 and up 16% among adults 25-54.

The American Music Awards, which hadn’t aired a live event since 2022, returned with a bang on Monday night via its new CBS home. The 2025 edition of the AMAs, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, averaged 4.73 million viewers — according to CBS, that was up 34% from the last live AMAs broadcast in November 2022 (which aired on ABC).

After SZA and Becky G took home the first trophies of the evening, Jennifer Lopez mingled with the audience in her third look of the night. She swept her hair into a slicked-back ponytail with curled extensions—the better to show off a scaly, gold number with even more extra-high slits on either side of the skirt.

CBS reports the audience for the American Music Awards was 26 percent higher than for ABC’s CMA Country Christmas on Dec. 3, 2024 with 3.87M; 39 percent higher than NBC’s SNL 50 Years of Music on Jan. 27, 2025 (3.49M) and 52 percent higher than ABC’s CMA Fest on June 25, 2024 (3.19M).
