PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- The investigation continues after a shooting left two students dead inside of Wilgus Hall at UW-Platteville. Justine Strait is the mother of a UW-Platteville student. The shooting happened right outside her daughter's door.

Witnesses say they heard gunshots, but investigators and campus leaders have yet to confirm that. This all started Monday afternoon on campus in Platteville, about 25 minutes north of Dubuque. One man approached TV-9 reporters Tuesday, asking for answers regarding the “incident” that resulted in the death of two students.

The tragic event resulted in the deaths of two 22-year-old female students, Kelsie Martin and Hallie Helms, who were found with gunshot wounds at the university's Wilgus Hall. American police have described the incident as "targeted and isolated," stating that they are not seeking anyone else in connection to the students' deaths.
