Northern Nevada will have two representatives, a boy and a girl, on the national stage in the Little League Home Run Derby on Friday afternoon.

Phillies legend Ryan Howard will be on hand at the LLWS Home Run Derby, yet another example of the former big leaguer giving back to youth baseball initiatives.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WABI) - Hermon Little League’s Hadley Thayer competed in the 2025 Little League Softball Home Run Derby. Thayer faced seven players from across the country at Volunteer Stadium in Williamsport, Pa. She was second with 10 home runs in the first round.

Barton was the top qualifier from Connecticut after a derby that was held on June 20 at Casagrande Field in Seymour. From there, it was on to Coolray Field in Georgia, the home of the Gwinnett Stripers, the Atlanta Braves’ Triple-A affiliate, on July 13. Barton smacked 17 homers in two rounds to advance to the championship round.
