New Mexico State fell 30-27 to Liberty on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Fife led New Mexico State with 242 yards on 20-of-37 passing (54.1%) for two touchdowns and no interceptions. Calloway had 84 rushing yards on 18 carries and one touchdown, adding one reception for one yard. Tyler King recorded 68 yards on five catches.
Missouri State is 86th in FBS in red zone offense, scoring on 82.6% of trips. Florida International’s red zone defense ranks 31st at 78.1%. Florida International ranks 13th in the FBS with an average time of possession of 32:49.
That was nearly negated when the Aggies’ defense let MSU into field goal range, but Bears kicker Yousef Obeid missed a 50-yard field goal wide right to force overtime. That gave NM State hope before it was brutally dashed in a 24-17 overtime loss.
