Boston College baseball shortstop commit Logan Dawson has been selected in the 2025 MLB Draft. Dawson was picked No. 491 overall by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 16th round on Monday afternoon. The prospect is a product of Eastern High School in Voorhees Township, N.J.

With 24 picks in 20 rounds, including four first-round selections, this draft might be the Orioles’ most important in years. In total, the Orioles drafted 21 college players, three high schoolers, 13 pitchers and 11 hitters.

In total, 10 players from Massachusetts colleges and Universities were taken in the draft this year. It was the most college players taken from the Commonwealth since 2019 when the draft was 40 rounds rather than the current 20.
