The Pacers enter the championship series as the underdogs on the road, a place they have thrived thus far in the playoffs. They defeated the No. 1 Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals series, 4-1, and the No. 3 New York Knicks in the Conference finals, 4-2.

Oddsmakers see the Thunder as massive favorites to win not only Game 1, but the Finals. Oklahoma City vs. Indiana gets underway tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Indiana, however, won 12 of 16 games in the Eastern Conference playoffs and is making its first NBA Finals appearance in 25 years and second overall. Neither the Thunder nor Pacers have ever won an NBA Championship. Don’t anger people in the Pacific Northwest by mentioning the Supersonics’ one championship as some sort of technicality.
