The county Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 26-year-old man killed by his three dogs in a Mira Mesa park on Friday as Pedro Luis Ortega.

The San Diego Humane Society said that they received a call from the San Diego Police Department at 12:13 p.m. Friday asking for their assistance with a dog attack. Humane Society officers helped SDPD find and secure three dogs at Mesa Viking Neighborhood Park after the attack and placed them under mandatory bite quarantine.

Officials with the San Diego Humane Society provided an update Sunday on the fate of three dogs that were involved in the mauling death of a man in Mira Mesa Friday afternoon.
