Tropical Storm Melissa is set to intensify this weekend, and Jamaica and other Caribbean islands are bracing for harsh weather, forecasters with the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Thursday morning.
Our weather for now remains quiet as we are still under high pressure, but bigger changes are on the way as our cold front arrives this weekend.

Thursday will be the last quiet day for a while, as a couple of strong systems take aim at western Washington.
The first round of storms will develop to the northwest on Thursday night and track southeast into Friday morning.
KOCO 5 Meteorologist Jonathan Conder says the storm risk is for late Thursday and into Friday. A level 1 marginal risk has been issued for southwestern, western, southern and central Oklahoma, and the risk zone includes the OKC metro. Jonathan says the threat is mostly for hail.
A storm currently moving across Canada will bring lake-effect rain and other hazards to at least a dozen U.S. states on Wednesday, a National Weather Service (NWS) forecast said. The unsettled weather will persist through Friday.
