Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones continues to attempt to clear up comments he made over the weekend that caused a stir on social media.

CHARLOTTE — Cowboys chief operating officer and co-owner Stephen Jones denied saying the franchise would trade star pass rusher Micah Parsons. “I did not,” Jones said in a text message to The Dallas Morning News after the Cowboys’ 30-14 victory over the Panthers when asked about the recent NFL Network report.

Micah Parsons handled this well. Stephen Jones did not. And a lesson, just maybe, can be learned about Cowboys contract talk in the media.
