Tropical Storm Melissa is nearly stationary in the central Caribbean, with forecasters warning it could soon strengthen and brush past Jamaica as a powerful hurricane.

The Caribbean is once again on edge as Tropical Storm Melissa inches closer to Jamaica, just one year after Hurricane Beryl devastated parts of the island.
A tropical wave, located very near the islands in the southeastern Caribbean on Sunday, could develop by midweek — potentially into a tropical storm, experts said.
