Intense snow squalls severely reduced visibility on roads across Buffalo and others parts of Western New York Monday night, and the threat of snow squalls will linger this week.

Powerful winds combined with a burst of snow in Buffalo, New York, Monday night, making it almost impossible to see anything on the roads and more snow is on the way.

On Wednesday at 10:04 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a snow squall warning in effect until 10:45 a.m. for Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Seneca and Tompkins counties.

More than a foot of snow is expected through early Thursday in parts of central New York, while other parts of of western and central New York will see several inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
