The regularly scheduled service flight between Detroit and Chicago's Midway landed safely after the cracked windshield was found.

Several bystanders were treated for minor injuries as the driver was hauled off to jail.

A speeding car crashed into the McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, injuring six people and causing panic among travellers. The driver was taken into custody while authorities investigate the cause of the incident.

The vehicle struck a ticket counter inside the McNamara Terminal, near the check-in counters used by Delta Air Lines.
