A tropical wave designated INVEST 90-L is moving across South Texas and is being closely monitored by forecasters as it heads towards numerous states across the South. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC),
A flood watch remains in effect for Houston through Wednesday as rain totals climb north and west of the city and flash flood risks increase.
Rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour are possible in the strongest storms, with localized totals potentially exceeding several inches where repeated downpours occur. Officials warn that isolated locations could see significantly higher amounts if storms repeatedly track over the same areas.
