Michigan Forecast: Widespread snow expected Monday night, where the heavy lake effect will fall
A Winter Weather Advisory covers Ottawa, Newaygo and Lake counties for the same period, with 3 to 7 inches of snowfall expected. The most intense snowfall is anticipated this afternoon and evening as southwest winds draw moisture across Lake Michigan, with snow rates potentially reaching 1 to 2 inches per hour in the hardest-hit areas.
A winter storm will have a big impact northern & central Utah through Sunday morning. Heavy snow is expected in the mountains. Snow in valleys will change over to rain by Friday afternoon.

Heavy snow at lakeshore continues overnight
More snow is moving into West Michigan Monday night into Tuesday, with lake-effect expected to be localized and mostly confined to the lakeshore.
The narrowest and heaviest band of snow is predicted inland, to the west of the major Northeastern metropolitan areas. Most precipitation is expected to conclude by Tuesday night, according to William Churchill, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center.
While Friday’s snow has remained minor with totals less than an inch, a more potent storm system will move through southern Minnesota and much of Iowa Saturday. Snow will arrive Saturday afternoon and continue through the evening before coming to an end shortly after Midnight Saturday night.
