KATY, Texas — Crews have begun construction on Palladium Park Row Katy Living, a new $33 million housing development in the Katy area. The project will feature nearly 100 units, with more than half designated as affordable housing.

Locally based developer NewQuest has broken ground on Texas Heritage Marketplace, a $400 million mixed-use development in the western Houston suburb of Katy. The site spans 165 acres and fronts both I-10 and the newly completed Texas Heritage Parkway.

Elsewhere, NewQuest has started construction on The Grand at 249, a 65-acre, 404,000-square-foot retail center at the intersection of state Highway 249 and the Grand Parkway in Tomball. Alvis expects the first tenants to open there this year.
