A Bronx has recently become the latest New York Lottery millionaire after matching the first five numbers in a 2024 Mega Millions drawing. His ticket earned the game’s $1 million second-tier prize, and he only recently stepped forward to claim his winnings.

Multiple prize-winning Powerball-winning tickets for the Oct. 11 drawing were sold in the Capital Region over the weekend, according to the New York State Lotte

The New York Lottery today announced one second-prize-winning ticket was sold for the Sept. 29 Powerball drawing, making one lucky player a millionaire overnight. The $1 million ticket was sold at East Side Grocery, located at 1422 2nd Ave. in Manhattan, according to lottery officials.

On Sept. 25, 2025, Phillips from West Monroe won the top prize in New York Lottery’s Millionaire Maker scratch-off game. He received a one-time lump sum payment of $651,000 after required withholdings. Phillips purchased the winning ticket at Kinney Drugs, located at 9543 US Route 11 in Brewerton, Oswego County.
