The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 p.m. that includes portions of far southwestern Minnesota. It does not include the Twin Cities metro.
Minnesota’s Weather Authority has issued a Forecast First Alert for Sunday evening through Monday. Several rounds of storms are expected late this weekend and into early next week. Some of those could become severe.
The Twin Cities kick off Thursday with a little more cloud cover before sunshine reigns in the afternoon. Highs will be in the high 60s, which is still below average. Friday will be partly cloudy with a chance for rain in the overnight hours.
