The protest comes months after thousands of Arizonans gathered June 14 for a No Kings demonstration at the state Capitol in Phoenix. The event was among 2,000 anti-Trump demonstrations in communities around the country on the president’s birthday. The protests in February were held on Presidents Day.

A number of Mississippi residents are expected to take part in Saturday's No Kings Day of Peaceful Action, as part of more than 2,000 events nationwide in response to President Donald Trump and his administration.

Maine, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Vermont celebrate the paid holiday on their own. Maine, New Mexico and Vermont all replaced the Columbus Day holiday with Indigenous Peoples Day in 2019. South Dakota renamed the holiday to Native American Day in 1990, according to ACLU South Dakota .
