WASHINGTON (AP) — A Massachusetts man was arrested on weapons charges after he visited the U.S. Capitol on Monday and told police that he wanted to kill top Republicans, including billionaire investor Scott Bessent on the day that the Senate confirmed him as President Donald Trump’s treasury secretary, according to a Tuesday court filing.

Ryan Michael English, 24, of South Deerfield, Massachusetts, told Capitol Police officers he would "like to turn himself in" on Monday, telling them he wanted to kill Scott Bessent, who was recently confirmed as the United States secretary of the treasury.

A Massachusetts man who intended to kill two Trump Cabinet secretaries and the Speaker of the House of Representatives brought knives and Molotov cocktails with him to Washington D.C., reports said.
