School officials are warning parents about a potentially dangerous TikTok trend that could harm students and their school-issued Chromebooks.

A new challenge involves students in schools sticking paper clips in Chromebook computer, which as caused fires in several Connecticut schools, according to news reports. With concern of the trend spreading, now school officials in other states are asking students to please not put paperclips in their laptops.

Students are filming themselves inserting items into the charging ports of their school Chromebooks in order to spark a fire.
