David Hogg, a survivor of the 2018 shooting at his high school in Parkland, Florida, who turned into a national anti-violence activist, has launched a bid to serve in leadership of the Democratic National Committee.

March for Our Lives co-founder David Hogg announced he is running for Democratic National Committee vice chair on Monday in a bid to change the status quo within the party following its general election losses last month.

The 24-year-old spoke with Newsweek about his candidacy and the backlash he received from Democrats for raising young voters' concerns.
