Luka Modric is going to try and help restore seven-time European champion AC Milan to glory at age 39 after one of the most disappointing Rossoneri seasons in recent memory.

Modric has chosen to wear the No. 14 shirt at AC Milan for the 2025-26 season. The Croatian star's selection pays tribute to former Rossoneri player and then head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who occasionally wore the No. 14 jersey during his playing days at San Siro.

Modric's next destination had already been all but confirmed, with returning Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri telling reporters he expected the midfielder to arrive on a free transfer by August
