Late on Wednesday night, the Braves completed a trade with the Miami Marlins, sending right-handed pitcher Michael Petersen to their division rivals for cash considerations. Petersen had been designated for assignment on Sunday. The Marlins announced the trade via X (formerly Twitter).

The Miami Marlins selected former Midland College and Texas State pitcher Carson Laws in the 14th round of the MLB draft with the 408th pick. Laws was with the Chaparrals from 2022-2024 for his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Texas State.
