The fourth-year Seattle Seahawks cornerback was penalized over the same transgression twice this season, and that’s bad news — for him.

According to Tom Pelissero at NFL.com, the Seahawks lead the league in EPA/play defensively since the Week 8 bye, and they rank eighth offensively.

The 44-year-old signal-caller, signed to the practice squad on Wednesday, has not appeared in an NFL game in almost five years.

The Seahawks announced several roster moves on Saturday, including activating TE Eric Saubert and C Jalen Sundell from injured reserve. Jordan Schultz reports that the team is also re-signing Saubert to a one-year contract extension.

The Seahawks' success has come from a multitude of avenues, but quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba have been two of the biggest reasons why. Both were listed as potential MVP candidates by ESPN contributor Bill Barnwell.

The Seahawks secured veteran tight end Eric Saubert with a one year extension, reinforcing blocking depth and long term tight end stability.
