Johnson was the No. 5 overall player on the final big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. Despite missing seven games with a shoulder injury and turf toe, Johnson had 14 tackles, three passes defended and four interceptions last year. In 2023, he had 27 tackles, four passes defended and four interceptions for Michigan.

Former Michigan cornerback Will Johnson was one of the bigger slides in the 2025 NFL Draft. His slide from a potential top 10 pick to the 47th was only overshadowed by the free fall of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
