Before we get to the possibility of snow and wind on Sunday, we'll have to suffer through a bitterly cold Friday.
The most famous blizzard of course was in February of 1978. Snow fell for two days, piling up more than 30 inches in some areas and blowing snow created drifts much deeper than that. Cars and trucks were stranded on major highways and dozens of people lost their lives.
Wind chills in Boston in the early morning on Wednesday could dip as low as -5 degrees, according to forecasters.
The sun returned Tuesday amid high, thin clouds, but the frigid temperatures remained locked in at dangerously cold levels, well below freezing, with many New Englanders still shoveling out the roughly 2 feet of snow that fell, courtesy of the eighth-largest storm on record for the Boston area.
