Thousands swarmed the Ohio Statehouse grounds Oct. 18 in Columbus as part of nationwide "No Kings" protests against President Donald Trump's agenda.
Dozens of "No Kings" demonstrations are scheduled to take place across Ohio. More than 19 "No Kings" demonstrations are scheduled in Columbus—including the Ohio Statehouse—and several of the city's outlying suburbs and rural communities on Oct. 18 as part of a nationwide network of protests against fascism.
More than two dozen "No Kings" protests were scheduled across Northeast and North Central Ohio Saturday, according to the No Kings coalition website. Roughly 700 protesters lined both sides of Ridgewood Drive in Parma Saturday morning.
The “No Kings” theme was orchestrated by the 50501 Movement, a national movement made up of everyday Americans who stand for democracy and against what they call the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration. The name 50501 stands for 50 states, 50 protests, one movement.
Organizers have planned more than 2,500 rallies around the country to celebrate free speech and protest many of the Trump administration's actions.
