Steve Kerr heaves sigh of relief after Steph Curry injury update
Kerr admits the Warriors dodged a larger crisis after discovering Curry's setback was just a quad issue and not a more serious leg injury.
Stephen Curry left late against Houston after getting injured, and the Warriors are now waiting for clarity on his status.
Over the past two games, Curry has been back on the court. He checked in for 33 minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers, producing 38 points in a 127-123 loss. Prior to Wednesday’s action, Curry produced 31 points, four rebounds, and two assists in 29 minutes against the Utah Jazz.
With 35.2 seconds remaining in regulation and the Warriors trailing by five points, Curry exited the ballgame and walked gingerly back to the locker room. Due in part to the injury, Curry finished with 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting with a season-high six turnovers.
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is undergoing an MRI after suffering a right quad contusion during Wednesday's loss to the Houston Rockets.
The former Heat star sustained the injury after taking a hard hit from Micah Peavy in the second half. Butler limped to the bench but stayed in the game, knocking down his free throws, before finishing the night with 37 minutes and a 34-point double-double.
