CHAPIN, S.C. (AP) — Former South Carolina Lt. Gov. André Bauer is mounting a GOP primary challenge to Sen. Lindsey Graham, arguing the incumbent isn’t conservative enough to represent the state.

Andre Bauer, the former lieutenant governor of South Carolina, launched his bid on Wednesday to replace Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Bauer had hinted at the move in an exclusive interview with the Washington Examiner last week.

Former GOP Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer has launched a bid to unseat four-term U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in 2026, saying he’s the “real MAGA” alternative for fed-up GOP voters. Bauer, who left elected office in 2011 after losing a bid for governor,
