Future SEC players Zion Crumpton, CD Morgan, Corey Barber and EJ Crowell all had touchdowns as Alabama raced to a 40-10 victory at M.M. Roberts Stadium on the campus of Southern Mississippi.

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart picked up his first win against Alabama in the SEC championship game, as he was 0-4 against the Crimson Tide for an SEC title in his career. Smart also improved to 2-7 against Alabama, with his last win coming in the 2022 CFP national championship game.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs finally knocked off Alabama for the SEC championship, winning 28-7. Georgia likely will get a top-four seed and a bye in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Alabama will await its suddenly tenuous fate as the field is announced tomorrow afternoon.

Alabama football is tied for the most representatives on the 2025 SEC All-Freshman football team. Four Crimson Tide players made the team: tight end Kaleb Edwards, offensive lineman Michael Carroll, defensive lineman London Simmons and cornerback Dijon Lee Jr. Tennessee also had four freshmen make the team.

Georgia beat Alabama in the SEC Championship, earning the Bulldogs their 16th overall conference title. Indiana upset Ohio State to win its first Big Ten title since 1967.

Alabama football offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor has secured a 2025 SEC football award. Proctor was named as a co-winner of the SEC conference's Jacobs Blocking Trophy along with Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III.

Announced by the SEC on Wednesday, Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor has been named the co-recipient of the 2025 Jacobs Blocking Trophy.

Georgia (12-1, No. 3 CFP), had been 0-4 against Alabama in the SEC title game and 1-7 against the Crimson Tide under coach Kirby Smart.

Alabama lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game 28-7 on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, handing the Crimson Tide its first loss in a conference title game since 2008.

A week before Alabama's biggest game of the year against Oklahoma, one of their coaches will be leaving for new pastures in 2026.
