ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA - According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 2.3 magnitude quake occurred close to Berkeley Tuesday morning.
Experts with the U.S. Geological Survey have attached a specific percentage to the risk that Monday morning's earthquake could be a precursor to a larger one.
Several aftershocks have struck Berkeley in the same area where a 4.3 earthquake hit early Monday morning, shaking the Bay Area.
The earthquake that rattled the East Bay on Monday originated on the Hayward Fault and prompted questions about an overdue large quake on the fault. Brian Hackney reports.
