South Oak Cliff’s hopes of a state championship slipped away in the final seconds of the Class 5A Division II title game against Richmond Randle. With the clock winding down and no timeouts, the Dallas ISD team scrambled to line up for a 45-yard field goal that would have forced overtime.

Keilan Sweeny accounted for two touchdowns and Landen Williams-Callis rushed for 101 yards and scored once to lead Richmond Randle over Dallas South Oak Cliff 38-35 in the Texas 5A Division 2 state championship game at AT&T Stadium.

Dallas South Oak Cliff was making its fourth consecutive trip to the Class 5A Division II state title game, but for the second year in a row the Golden Bears were denied the championship.
