Washington State quarterback John Mateer entered the transfer portal on Monday and was named the No. 1 overall player in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings. Mateer is expected to garner interest from a wide variety of schools.

Mateer hails from just across the Red River in Little Elm, TX, and broke out this year under new Sooners offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle.
