The Miami Marlins selected former Midland College and Texas State pitcher Carson Laws in the 14th round of the MLB draft with the 408th pick. Laws was with the Chaparrals from 2022-2024 for his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Texas State.
Only one player in MLB history has gone 8 hits, 5 HR, 11 RBI in a two-game span. That was Ty Cobb, on May 5 and 6 in 1925. Stowers' action was made even sweeter because that three-homer game was against the Orioles, the team that traded him and Connor Norby for Trevor Rogers.
