Ripple launches RLUSD stablecoin on Ethereum and XRP Ledger with 1:1 USD backing, now available on global exchanges with strategic partnerships across US, Asia, UK and Middle East markets.

Ripple, the provider of digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions,  announced that Ripple USD (RLUSD) will be available on exchanges.

The dollar-pegged Ripple USD (RLUSD) will begin trading Tuesday across Ethereum and XRP Ledger, Ripple said Monday.

Banking officials join Ripple USD advisory board, with Ripple officially announcing RLUSD’s global exchange debut coming on Dec. 17.

Ripple set to launch RLUSD stablecoin on December 17, featuring dual-chain support on Ethereum and XRPL networks. Partners include major exchanges with NYDFS approval and monthly reserve attestations.

The coin, named RLUSD, is an effort to advance Ripple’s goal of becoming the go-to network for international payments. The stablecoin will be available on a select number of exchanges including Uphold, Bitso, MoonPay, Archax, and CoinMENA, with more availability in the future, according to the company.

The RLUSD token is designed to maintain parity with the U.S. dollar and will be available on global exchanges Tuesday.

Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin, known as RLUSD, launched today on several global crypto exchanges. RLUSD is now available on Bitso, Uphold, CoinMENA, MoonPay, and Archax with other listings coming in the future,

Ripple received approval to issue RLUSD from the New York State Department of Financial Services earlier this month.
