Ryan Garcia suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Rolando “Rolly” Romero on Friday night in Times Square, losing on points in his first fight since returning from a one-year doping ban.

Rolly Romero made himself an even bigger star with just two punches. It was Friday, the 3rd of May, at an open-air event inside the iconic Times Square in New York City, when Romero overcame wide underdog status to topple Ryan Garcia in the second round.

American ‘King Ryan’ was floored in the second round by a left hook. Garcia, 26, went to the ring for the first time after serving a one-year doping ban. Ideally, the initial plan was for Ryan Garcia as well as Devin Haney to emerge victorious in their respective matches and meet for a highly hyped rematch later in the year.
