Tennessee has now confirmed six cases of measles in the state after others across the nation have had outbreaks of the illness.

The Tennessee Department of Health reports six measles cases this year, with a national outbreak totaling over 700 infections. They emphasize quarantine, vaccination, and immediate reporting of suspected cases.

Shelby County was previously believed to have had a confirmed case of measles, but the health department later said that the illness that had been initially reported as measles "did not meet the definition of the disease.
