A Jefferson Street apartment was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon, according to the Olympia Fire Department. About 11:40 a.m. Sunday, fire crews were dispatched to a home that had been converted into three apartments in the 800 block of Jefferson Street Southeast, Battalion Chief Jason Waters said.
Power was knocked out Sunday morning in the Lacey area after a driver crashed into a power pole, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
About 10:30 p.m., the Lacey man was headed east on state Route 510 near Reservation Road Southeast, according to the Washington State Patrol. An Olympia woman was driving in the opposite direction. Troopers say the man crossed the center line and crashed into her car.
The two Yelm residents, ages 44 and 43, were hurt and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. The road was blocked for more than three hours after the crash.
