As the Hubert Humphrey Job Corps Center in Saint Paul prepares to close its doors, dozens of young adults are facing an uncertain future. The closure leaves many without housing, education, or other skills needed to succeed in the workforce.

The Gary Job Corps Center, a cornerstone of vocational training in central Texas, is slated to shut down by the end of the month, following a sweeping decision from the U.S. Department of Labor under the Trump administration to close centers nationwide.

The Flint Hills Job Corps center has served Kansas for decades, providing education and job training for disadvantaged youth. The U.S. Department of labor announced last week, it’s suspending operations at all job corps centers nationwide on June 30.
