Christian Yelich was down 0-2 quick against Imanaga but battled back to an eight-pitch at-bat. He ended up striking out and Imanaga struck out the side. However, the game was tied and the Brewers made him throw 24 pitches in the first inning.

Right-hander Freddy Peralta (12-4, 2.81) starts for the Brewers, while left-hander Shota Imanaga (7-4, 3.12) counters for the Cubs. Jackson Chourio, who suffered a hamstring cramp and had to be removed from Tuesday's game, is out.

DL Hall threw a 1-2-3 fifth but quickly ran into trouble in the sixth when pinch-hitter Justin Turner blooped a double to right with Dansby Swanson, up next, sending his own two-batter to left-center that stretched the deficit back out to three runs.
