While a majority of the Broncos’ starters aren’t expected to play against the Cardinals on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. MT, 9NEWS/NFL Network), there’s still plenty that matters in the prime-time matchup.

New England Broncos quarterback Bo Nix debuts at No. 20 on The Athletic’s 2025 tiers list, with NFL coaches and executives confident he fits their system.

Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey had a mixed NFL debut, rushing seven times for 25 yards and adding a four-yard reception. Harvey showed flashes of what made him a second-round draft pick, but there was also at least one occasion when he bounced a run outside when there was a running lane available inside.

The 2025 NFL Draft is almost here – and the dreams of hundreds of ... Hampton is a strong, fast running back who can play every down. Whether the Broncos select Hampton or someone else does, that lucky team will be getting a franchise player.

Elsewhere on the ex-Broncos front, running back Royce Freeman, who was drafted by Denver in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft out of Oregon, worked out for Miami before the Dolphins opted to sign Boone. Freeman totaled 1,596 yards from scrimmage and scored nine touchdowns in three years (46 games) with the Broncos.

Broncos starting quarterback Bo Nix and the first-team offense will get some playing time against the New Orleans Saints in the preseason finale next week, but they won't suit up against the Cards in Week 2. With just a few exceptions, most of Denver's starters won't play against the Cardinals.
