Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka shared Gregg Popovich's reaction when he earned his first head coaching job for the Boston Celtics in 2021.

While Udoka deserves a lot of credit for the turnaround, it appears he also got some advice from an external source, Gregg Popovich. He had played under Popovich on the San Antonio Spurs from 2007 to 2009 and was his assistant coach from 2012 to 2019.

Of all the branches on the Popovich coaching tree — which includes Steve Kerr — there is no tale like that of Ime Udoka.
